Where Beauty Meets Function: A Texas Family Barn

Beauty and practicality meet inside this custom family barn in Pilot Point, Texas.

Recently designed and built by NoBull Metal Buildings and exquisitely outfitted with interior elements from American Stalls, the barn is the perfect size for five stalls. The owner wanted her horse barn’s style to be similar to their family home and workshop, requesting it to feel warm and welcoming instead of just functional. NoBull Metal Buildings executed the design with rich wood finishes, clean architectural lines, quality materials, and thoughtful details that make it feel like an extension of the client’s home.

American Stalls provided custom hinged stall fronts, stall partitions with mesh windows, exterior Dutch doors with vertical lumber infill, and sliding barn doors at both ends of the aisle. They also supplied the southern yellow pine lumber that ties the woodwork together throughout the building.

The stalls feature hinged European Stall Fronts with a rectangular yoke opening and full mesh design across the upper section. The southern yellow pine infill below the mesh adds warmth that aluminum frames alone cannot, allowing the barn to feel like a finished interior rather than industrial hardware.

The aisle chandeliers are 48 inch two tier wagon wheel chandeliers with 36-lights each.

Each stall is equipped with automatic waterers and feeders under the stall front’s feed doors.

To maximize space, there’s an access door above the wash rack that leads to extra storage for blankets during the summer months.

Tack Room

Step inside the tack room featuring moody Urbane Bronze paint by Sherwin-Williams (also used on the barn’s interior ceiling) paired with the pine tongue-and-groove.

This space is climate-controlled and includes a half bathroom and laundry room, making it easy to wash blankets, towels, and other essentials without ever leaving the barn.
