An equestrian co-op creates a peaceful equestrian environment.
Tepla Farms is a spectacular equestrian facility in London, Ontario, Canada. The owners live on the property and have their own private barn and pastures separate from the main boarding area.
Allie Heninger is the barn manager at Tepla and lives on-site near the barn with her husband. Allie started riding at age six and has worked in a variety of barns since she was 14. She has been competing for about 12 years and focuses on hunter/jumpers, but has done eventing in the past.
Allie and her husband, Dallin moved to Canada from Utah in March. She visited London several times a few years prior to moving, falling in love with the area.
“When we toured this barn last year, it just felt perfect, and was a major incentive for our move. I brought my horse and started working here right away. I soon became the barn manager, moved onto the property, and now I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else,” Allie said. “I run the boarding and care aspect of the stables, as well as many of the day-to-day operations around the farm. Along with the help of our co-op representative, I facilitate the positive environment and culture within our team that is at the heart of our values.”
The modern, custom designed barn was constructed in 2009 by Dutch Masters Design & Construction for its previous farm own, Paul Hayman.
Barn Interior
The barn has 16 System Equine stalls, including two oversized broodmare stalls. The stall fronts allow the horses to look out into the aisle and socialize.
The thoughtfully designed barn has automatic watering spouts installed on each stall for conveniently filling up water buckets.
Tepla Farms is a co-op boarding facility that offers full and self-care boarding options. The boarders collectively make decisions pertaining to the barn as a group. Everything from who they accept as boarders, veterinarians, shows they attend, hosting clinics and more is planned together. This allows the riders to be a tight-knit group. Everyone is a working adult with a professional career, wanting to enjoy their barn time. The co-op keeps the barn free from drama and allows everyone to thrive at this show jumping barn.
The heated grooming area has overhead heat lamps to keep the horses clean and dry all winter long. There is a dedicated crosstie area for our farrier or vet outside of the feed rooms.
The barn has two well-appointed tack rooms, a laundry room and a spacious viewing room with a fireplace and kitchenette. The laundry room has space for hanging blankets, boots and saddle pads, keeping everything clean and in its place.

Riding Spaces
The 80′ x 220′ indoor arena features EuroFiber footing, which provides ideal cushioning and shock-absorbent footing.
Outside, a 200′ x 300′ sand arena provides a wonderful place to work during the warmer months. There are are also two sand round pens on the property and riverside trails (with plans for more expansion this year).
