Roseview is a very special place.
From afar, Roseview Farms in Wellington, Florida appears to be a tradition Wellington barn. Upon entering the property this perception quickly disappears. An alleé of tall palms mark the perimeter of the property with the entry to the farm drive defined by large salvaged pillars, pedestals and architectural urns interwoven with dense plantings; all lead the eye from the road to a 12 stall barn unlike any other, creating a sense of wonder and interest about what may lie ahead. Surrounded by a world class five-acre jump field, lush paddocks, modern art and a large water feature stands the main barn of Roseview Farms.
Although only ten years old, behind the steel hurricane doors is a barn with the interior of a period fox hunting barn. Coffered ceilings, antique doors, wall mounted tack trunks displaying the farm logo and one-of-a-kind light fixtures all work together to produce an aisle with traditional ambiance and modern functionality seldom found in any equestrian facility.
Wash Stalls
Off the main aisle there are two large wash stalls, lined with oversize subway tile, complete with enameled signs originally from the London Underground, a large saddle rack modelled after the statement piece in the owner’s family farm tack room and recycled slate chalk boards – still used for notes & messages- now framed and finished to match the iconic saddle rack. The final touches to this bright and efficient space are large potted palms adding a dash of color where it is least expected.

Two Tack Rooms
Moving on, we see two very large tack rooms, each defined by oriental rugs, dramatic lighting and free standing illuminated cabinets rescued from prior lives very different from storing tack in Florida. The first tack room contains a glass-fronted cabinet, originally a butler’s pantry china cabinet from a former Connecticut estate, and now used to hold and illuminate an impressive collection of bridles. Next to that an assortment of tail extensions is displayed, functionally hung, illuminated and ready to be used for the next day’s competition. Looking beyond, antique golden oak and glass sliding cabinet doors from a school in Ohio now proudly protect a sea of show ribbons; a commercial door surround from Poughkeepsie, New York has been repurposed to frame four bays of saddles resting on racks crafted from period ice box hardware.
The second tack room is defined by an oversized antique movie poster case retrofitted to house an amazing collection of antique bits. Playing a supporting role are three mahogany, floor-to-ceiling former apothecary display cases illuminated and lined with green pool table felt, displaying the beauty of well used and well cleaned girths and bridles. Both tack rooms display an amazing collection of trophies, classic equestrian prints and various pieces of old- school hardware once commonly found in the horse barns of another time.
Outside the barn, gardens have been carefully curated with significant plantings and architectural salvage to create a formal courtyard perfect for presenting horses in their best light. The gardens, coupled with the grand space(s) of the barn aisle, wash stalls and the creatively designed, well curated tack rooms, all contribute to an experience that offers a traditional environment, steeped in history, combined with highly functional spaces consistent throughout the property.
To a visitor’s eye, Roseview Farms is very much a modern and highly functional facility built for today’s professional, combined with a traditional ambiance and the modern amenities needed to position a competitive show barn for unmatched success.
