Enter a modern barn home to retired horses, with a luxurious tack room.

Step inside a client’s dreamy, elegantly composed horse barn—an architectural statement defined by bold design choices and refined beauty. Conceived by Joei McIntire Design and her team, the Greenwood Village, Colorado space was envisioned as a serene haven for the client’s retired horses. The newly built structure masterfully balances sophistication with striking patterns and materials, resulting in an equestrian environment that feels both contemporary and timeless.

The small and stately barn features three stalls by StableMasters, a feed room, tack room, and wash stall.

Joei’s team enjoyed the freedom their client allowed them – taking the reins creatively. When it was time to have the barn professionally photographed, they let the goats out, thinking they would walk through the barn. But they hopped up onto the antique dining table, styled in the center of the aisle – creating the perfect playful shot. They also styled the barn with antique furniture from France before the horses arrived.

The brass stall finials tie into the lighting selections of the same finish. The stable pendants are a custom dark green and brass. Custom name plates and black iron horseshoes adorn each stall.
Feed Room

Enter the exquisite feed room with marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, and brass hardware, and pendant above the sink. Rolling feed bins tucked under the counter make feeding a breeze.

Tack Room

The design team selected bold statement choices, including plaid Mulberry wallpaper out of England and leaned into saturating the entire space in a rich green Benjamin Moore paint. They selected horse bit brass hardware pulls and custom casing with horse bit and stirrup details.

These divinely soft and plush chairs are by Classic Home.

The chandelier in the tack room is a brass Ralph Lauren piece, a nod to the equestrian style with the brass stripped details and British tan leather straps.

This 3-stall barn has attached runs, paddock, and pasture for the retired equines.

Thank you Joei McIntire Design for sharing this beautiful barn with Stable Style.
