Langshot Stud's New Facility in Chobham is Modern & Spacious

Langshot Stud offers full service boarding in Chobham, Surrey, England.

This pristine horse property is situated on 28 acres with private access to Chobham Common, which offers 1,620 acres of beautiful trails for hacking. The new facility was recently constructed in September of 2019. Careful planning went into the layout of the property and barn, which is a unique L shape. There are 27 stalls in the entire barn, 4 are spacious foaling stalls.

Langshot’s impressive horse walker is 23 meters around (over 75′), it’s one of the largest walkers in England. It has an 18 meter lunging/round pen space in the center filled with Andrews Bowen Propell mix surface. The walker has wind breaks on both sides and is able to be used in all types of weather.

Langshot Stud is owned by Karen Jones. Her passion for horses started at a young age. When she was just 17, Karen bought her first Arabian foal, Ridgeway. The gelding lived his days with her until the age of 27. Karen also bred Thoroughbreds for racing, which has always been a passion of hers.

“Since we built the stud facilities I have bred a couple of show jumpers which are from old lines – which I believe is the way forward, so it will be interesting to watch, ” Karen said. “I am very interested in the bloodlines of all breeds, but more than anything I enjoy a rehab challenge. There is nothing more rewarding than helping mend a broken horse, it makes my heart burst with joy.”

The property also has an international sized arena with an Andrews Bown Pro Wax surface for excellent footing. Recently, Langshot built a 3/4 mile canter track for additional conditioning on the property.

The stable yard has plenty of room for vehicles to enter and depart.

Inside the Barn

The barn is divided into two sections, a broodmare wing and boarding wing. The broodmare area has four 28′ x 14′ foaling stalls with 24 hour monitoring. A convenient veterinary room is located in the barn for on-site treatment. The vet room houses a vibrating and pulsating magnetic floor as well as stocks for AI and scanning.

The right hand wing of the barn has 23 stalls, spaciously sized at 14’x14′ for boarders. The barn is equipped with stunning tack rooms, a rug room with an onsite washer and dryer and grooming areas with hot water and two powerful solariums that can dry a horse in 15 minutes.
