Many places that make rent horses out take horrible care of the animal. They are not fed well, they are worked too hard, not given time off, no access to pasture. How can you confirm that the business takes adequate care of their horses? I would absolutely die if I booked one of these trips and the horses were suffering or abused.

I understand your concern – I’ve seen the photos of tourists riding thin horses. Most of those tourists are uneducated about horses. However these places are equestrian destinations with a bit of luxury. You can always request current photos of the horses when booking or ask these questions if you feel worried. I wouldn’t want to support a place that doesn’t care for horses either.
