GMP Farm is the ultimate equestrian rehabilitation facility in upstate New York, leading the way with top of the line care, technology and services.
Surrounded by Thoroughbreds, horse racing and idyllic charm, Saratoga Springs is also home to GMP Farm, a state of the art rehabilitation and training facility catering to its equestrian athletes. GMP Farm has sought out the best technology and tools for horses, including a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to aid with faster recovery from injuries, building endurance and improving overall health.
Recently, American Stalls worked with GMP Farm to outfit their newest barn with 28 stalls which are highlighted along with the rehabilitation amenities in this beautiful tour. This is GMP’s second barn, giving them a total capacity of 60 stalls at their facility.

The barn features American Stalls’ sliding stall doors with removable yolks. The stall fronts feature open v-shaped yokes, but with the option to fill them using removable yokes. The stalls feature a centered door design, preventing any animosity between neighboring horses when they stick their heads out of the yoke.
Each stall front features a blanket bar with double hooks underneath each end for halters and leads.
The barn is climate controlled to ensure the horses are comfortable during all seasons. The barns are also equipped with camera systems for close monitoring and top notch care. If you need help picking out a camera for your horse barn, be sure to read The Best Security Cameras for Your Horse Barn.
The stall doors all open and close with ease, using pin latches. Each Pin Latch is built using 304 stainless steel and aluminum. This ensures that each latch is elegant, yet built to withstand the long term rigors of a working horse barn.
Each stall front is coated with a durable black powder coat finish and filled with premium southern yellow pine lumber.
This photo shows the removable stall yoke when it is completely closed. The unique feature allows the horse owner the flexibility to “close” an open yoke. Each yoke in GMP Farm’s stall fronts is an open v-shaped, prepared with pre-drilled holes and tabs. The removable yoke piece smoothly locks into place inside the yoke opening. This is a wonderful option for facilities like GMP Farm who might have various personalities in the stalls – along with outside visitors.
Pour in rubber flooring runs throughout the aisle and rehab spaces, offering a non-slip surface for the horses.
Rehabilitation
This is the dry salt room. GMP Farm’s Equine Dry Salt Therapy is a fine, dry vapor of concentrated medical grade salt particles dispersed into the air which is absorbed by the skin and inhaled reaching deep down into the lungs. The salt loosens the mucous and inflammation is reduced. This in turn makes more room in the airways for your horse to breathe more easily.
GMP Farm’s Equine Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy (HBOT) delivers increased amounts of oxygen to diseased or injured tissues. With HBOT technology, horses receive a high concentration of pure oxygen in a completely sealed and pressurized environment.

GMP Farm also has an Equine Cold Water Spa. The spa provides immediate relief for sore muscles and joints, improves circulation and helps prevent future injuries. It’s a great way to reduce inflammation, increase mobility, flexibility and benefit overall performance.
Other rehabilitation services at GMP include equine dry salt therapy, laser therapy, PEMF therapy, thermal imaging, cryotherapy and vibration floor therapy.
A covered eurociser is a key part of conditioning and rehabilitation for the horses staying at GMP. The eurociser allows for controlled speeds, while the horse is able to move and stretch their top line for natural and free movement.
The Grounds
This is a 10 stall sand pen used to put the horses in to play around and roll.
7/8 Tapeta Training Track
GMP Farm’s 7/8 Tapeta Training Track surface can reduce the chance of injuries that may occur. Tapeta is a Thoroughbred racing and training surface composed of a carefully selected mixture of the finest silica sand, wax and fibers that have been extensively researched and simulate the root structure of turf. The surface keeps the integrity of the horse’s feet without compromise.
Tapeta handles wet weather and heavy rainfall extremely well. The consistency, safety and simplicity of Tapeta place it at the top of the world’s rankings and many of the world’s best Thoroughbred’s train and race on Tapeta.
