This grand horse property is located in the picturesque countryside of Lower Saxony, Germany.
Gestüt Brune offers modern equestrian amenities among its sprawling complex with traditional design. Founded in 2017 by Bernadette Brune, an accomplished equestrian, Gestüt Brune is paradise, home to around 60 horses. In the quiet countryside, not far from Oldenburg, a known horse country, Gestüt Brune is tucked away, home to some of the best dressage bloodlines. While breeding quality horses is a priority, Bernadette focuses on breaking horses in a soft manner with a focus on natural horsemanship and an emphasis on groundwork.
The slogan at Gestüt Brune is “All in one hand.” The young horses grow up there. During the summer they spend their days in the lush fields surrounding the stable, offering an abundance of space and freedom for the youngsters to grow up before they are broke to ride, trained or sold.
Construction for this magnificent facility began in 2014 and was finished in 2017. The concept and design was handled by renowned equestrian architect, Ferdinand Leve from Warendorf. The facility was built by Borchers Construction Company.
The facility has two sport horse barns, foaling barn, “kindergarten” barn for young horses, two outdoor arenas, an indoor arena, rounded indoor for young horses, lunging arena, horse walker, Aquatrainer and a racing track.

Indoor Arena
The covered arena is used for a variety of clinics, events and everyday riding. Both the indoor and outdoor arenas utilize Hopster footing with an Ebbe/Flut system, allowing for perfectly controlled footing every ride. The low profile mirror allows you to see the horse and rider at all times indoors.
The beautiful lounge bar and viewing area is a popular place. The elevated space allows you to see everything happening in the arena and surrounding outdoor arena. This space is often used for parties, events or rented out for clinics.
The terrace is wonderful in the summer for having barbecues, catching the sunset and watching the horses working outside.
Bernadette appreciates the tranquil spaces and beautiful garden views she gets while sitting on her property. The terrace, indoor and her house are some of her favorite spaces.
The Barns
There are two training and sales barns for sport horses with 35 box stalls divided among two barns. Here, a horse enjoys an ActivoMed IMPULSELINE Relax Plus Horse Rug treatment.
The stalls are by Röwer & Rüb.
Young Horse Barn
With a dedicated mare and foal barn, a “kindergarten” barn for youngsters and two training and sales barns for sport horses, it’s no surprise Gestüt Brune has been deemed the best stable in Germany by the Hanoverian Society. This is the kindergarten barn, where the horses from 1-3 live. It’s very important to Bernadette that these young horses are able to run each day. This set up with in and out stalls allows that to happen.
The horses are able to utilize the stalls together and act as a herd.
Foaling Barn
The mare and foal barn is equipped with cameras, spacious box stalls with attached outdoor runs.
The Grounds
Welcome to Gestüt Brune.
The trees frame the pathway between the pastures.
Bernadette’s private house is situated in the middle of the yard, which gives her the ability to keep an eye on the horses and activity from the comfort of home.
Thank you Bernadette for opening up your barn doors to Stable Style.
