This exquisite horse property is a peaceful place for horses and visitors.
When Susan Lovelace found a tranquil property situated on over 100 acres in Destin, Florida she quickly turned it into the perfect second home and space to unwind from her demanding career. She’s one of the Gulf Coast’s most sought after interior designers and owner of Lovelace Interiors. Susan’s stunning horse farm has a main house, guest house, horse barn, outdoor arena and spacious grounds with a lake, trail access and lush pastures. While she isn’t competing at the moment, Susan has spent plenty of time in the jumper arena in Wellington and is versed in dressage and cutting.
The horse barn was previously a humble metal building when the farm was purchased. The once metal barn is covered in local cypress which makes it feel warm and inviting. It now features fans, fancy lighting and thoughtful design details. Susan sketched out her dream barn which currently has four stalls, with room for two more (just in case). One of the extra stalls is currently a seating area off the aisle and the other is utilized as a grooming stall. The barn houses an impressive tack room and a special room called Cowgirl Cocktails.
At just 40′ x 60′, the barn isn’t particularly large but was thoughtfully planned down to the details. Susan frequently hosts dinner parties in the barn and her guests look forward to them. There is a large grill and cooking area behind the barn. Inside the tack room, there is a sink and everything you need to host casual parties. The barn gets very dirty and is well used and loved but Susan is always happy to clean it up, and enjoys keeping fancy furniture in the barn.
All of the stalls are attached to outdoor runs so the horses can go in and out as they please.
Tack Room
The tack room has a full bath, washer, dryer, large sink and full sized refrigerator. Red French doors make accessing the space from the outside easy for loading or unloading the horse trailer.
Cowgirl Cocktails
Susan’s favorite room in the barn is called “Cowgirl Cocktails”. It’s a place to unwind with friends before or after a ride. A beautiful bar from the house was cut down and fit to the space. There’s a cocktail leather Ralph Lauren chair and a large television.
The fusion of entertainment and horses offers a chance for Susan to relax and unwind from her busy lifestyle.
Thank you Susan for sharing your property with Stable Style.
