A Closer Look: Steffie Hornig Equine Art

“In our fast world it’s my goal to draw attention to details & capture emotions.” – Stefanie Hornig. Thank you Steffie Hornig Equine Art for sponsoring this blog post.

Equine Emotions Art

Steffie developed a lifelong passion for horses at a young age. When she was eight years old, Steffie set her riding career into motion with “Goldie”, a very special pony. Presently, Goldie lives the good life, he is retired in the German countryside in a lush field.

Steffie rides in Muenster at the barn of Lars Nieberg, a former Olympic gold medalist. Her love and compassion for horses hasn’t changed a bit, which is reflected in Stefanie’s acrylic originals.

Equine Emotions Art by Stefanie Hornig

Steffie enjoys the process of painting a horse, frequently she will visit the horse(s) she is capturing on canvas.

“Just working from a photo is often not good enough and I would not be able to truly capture the individual character of the horse if I do not know it personally.”

Her style is often cropped, meaning the focus goes to a specific detail or emotion. Zooming in on smaller area lends the opportunity to really feel the sentiment.

Steffie is available for commissions of your horse in acrylic on canvas. Prints of her current pieces are also available upon request. Prints are available on canvas or structured paper.

This painting is named Tender.

“While horses may weight around ten times as much as me I love how soft and careful they are around us humans. This painting is of my first horse “Snow White” who taught me so much.”
