A Colorado facility is modern, yet rustic.
Bear Mountain Ranch is a spectacular project designed by Axial Arts. The Colorado based architecture firm is owned by Kevin and Wendy Lind. They were hired to design this facility after being recommended from a previous client. Along with the barn, Axial Arts designed an indoor arena, cattle and hay barn and a professional grade equipment workshop with living quarters above it.
The ultimate goal was to create a traditional and functional barn that could also double as a backdrop for social and corporate gatherings. After the completion, the clients have been able to use their new space to host everything from fundraisers to political functions.
The rustic tack room is well-appointed with thoughtful decor and everything has a place.
The horse barn interior features high ceilings with contrasting dark wooden beams.
The bright and spacious indoor riding arena is 100′ x 200′. Off to the side of the arenas is a bleacher area for hosting clinics and several open rail stalls.
Stone accents are found in and out of the barn.
The hay and cattle barn is split level. There are three bays on the top level to house tractors, equipment and a large amount of hay. The lower level opens below with cattle pens and equipment for breeding and calving. The state of the art cattle handling systems and stocks were designed by Temple Grandin. Temple is known as a bestselling author, autism activist and consultant to the livestock world when it comes to animal behavior.
