This new tack room was carefully planned.
Chris’s new tack room is small, but perfectly designed. This 10′ x 10′ room attached to a six-stall barn was a labor of love created by Chris and her father. She wanted to have an elegant tack room with muted colors, panelling and the addition of natural wood utilized in the flooring, racks and exterior door. The photo gallery celebrates moments with Chris, her husband and two sons enjoying time with their horses. She wanted to share the love and strong bonds they have instead of a typical highlight of winnings or victories.
The saddle racks and bridle hooks are from an English company called Stubbs. Chris doesn’t like it when saddle pads are left with the saddle after a ride so this shape was ideal for a bare saddle to sit securely.
For cold weather, the tack room has underfloor heating to help the room maintain a nice temperature which helps keep the tack in its best condition. The heat is also a nice treat and offers a cozy space to take a break and warm up in between rides on different horses.
The kitchen area embraces a color palette with neutral tones. Chris also picked out her dream ceramic sink for the tack room. The cupboards are utilized for storage things such as saddle pads and extra tack, Chris is a big fan of closed storage.
Tack room cleaning tip from Chris:
“Tidy as you go! Don’t let the mess beat you to the end of the day when you’re enthusiasm and energy levels are low!”
