Learn about American Stalls and what sets them apart from the rest. Thank you American Stalls for sponsoring this blog post.
American Stalls started designing and manufacturing horse stalls back in 2006. They realized there was a need for stronger, safer, and simpler stalls – specifically at horse shows. American Stalls are created for equestrians by equestrians. Their temporary stalls set the bar high when it comes to value and design, as they look to incorporate the aesthetics and safety of high-end permanent stalls.
The Steel
Not all portable stalls are created equally, American Stalls focuses on designing a beautiful stall that will safely house your horse. They use 14-gauge galvanized steel on their temporary stall frames, while most companies only use 16-gauge steel. The galvanized steel is then powder coated in black, bronze, or other custom colors. This gives the stalls a premium finish and prevents them from rusting. A stall that doesn’t rust will remain strong over the years and will allow for easy tear down and set ups.
Steel Fact: The gauge of steel signifies the thickness of the wall of steel tubing or sheet steel. A lower gauge signifies a thicker steel. American Stalls uses heavy (low) gauge steel when constructing their products.
The Canvas
If you’ve ever arrived at an overnight show and eagerly went looking for your stall, you might have familiar memories of opening a stall door – only to find the vinyl had holes kicked in it. 🙄 That won’t happen with American Stalls.
The vinyl used by American Stalls is another significant strength and quality factor that sets them apart from other companies. Each stall uses 40 oz vinyl that is then stitched with nylon webbing. Other companies use a 18 oz vinyl and do not stitch the vinyl.
Also, while other companies use only one piece of vinyl, American Stalls uses two pieces of vinyl. There are four layers of industrial strength foam between the vinyl. Everything is firmly held into place with 2-inch-thick nylon sewn onto the edges and screwed into the steel frame. Round-head screws and washers can be found every 8 inches, ensuring durability.
A Variety of Portable Stalls
American Stalls offers several different series available for purchase – Classic Show Series (9′ and 12′) and Elite Show Series (9′ and 12′). American Stalls will soon launch their portable stalls made for Miniature horses. Learn the difference between those stalls here >
American Stalls are portable, but are durable enough to be used as permanent homes. Several boarding facilities and private barns use them as permanent stalls for their equine residents.
A happy horse in the Elite Plus Show Series stall.
