Behind every stall is an animal deserving of the best care. Beautiful and seamless barn design incorporates aesthetics, while considering the daily functions needed for feeding and cleaning with ease. This helpful blog post brought to you by American Stalls showcases both feed and water designs for your barn that will optimize your horse’s daily care and save time. Read on to explore feed and water options that can work with Sliding Horse Stall Fronts or European Horse Stalls.
Feed Hole Openings
The first and most basic option is a feed hole opening complimentary on all of American Stall’s stall systems. The slot allows you to quickly toss in grain through the slot without opening the stall door. The photo below showcases a feed hole opening on the left side.
Grilled Feed Door
A grilled feed door offers a larger space that opens and closes using American Stall’s built-in stainless steel plunger latch and a stainless steel striker plate. The design blends seamlessly with the rest of the stall and is built with 2″ square tubing hung on continuous stainless hinges.
Swivel Feeder
The swivel feeder comes with a built-in aluminum pan. Simply open the door, place grain into the pan, and swivel the feeder back into place during feeding.
All three of these feeding options will make life easier when it comes to doing chores, giving you more time to ride!
Automatic Waterer Systems
American Stalls offers eight different automatic waterer models to meet your horse stall’s needs. These are perfect for the front, side or back of the stall. The waterers feature stainless steel construction or aircraft grade aluminum housings with a drinking bowl made out of stainless steel. These materials ensure that your waterers are durable. The drinking bowl is easily removable and lets you empty, clean and sterilize the bowl away from the waterer, eliminating water spills in the stall. For colder climates, a heated option is available.
Integrated Water System Inside Stall Front
Some clients prefer to use traditional water buckets to closely monitor water intake. American Stalls offers their clients the ability to directly integrate their water lines into the desired horse stall systems. Each system includes a heavy-duty steel casing for the water lines. Spigots are placed on the horse stall exterior (aisle side) while spouts are placed on the stall interior. The above photo shows a client’s barn with European Horse Stall Front with integrated water lines.

All I can see is my horse ripping an eyeball out of his head or having his belly ripped open by that spigot in the stall. Does not seem safe to me.
