A functional barn for animals also offers a relaxing entertainment area.
Located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, this barn project by Quarry View Building Group is a dream come true for its owners. The newly renovated 35′ x 43′ barn has brought new life to a once forgotten structure. Keep reading to see a surprising before photo.
The spectacular barn exterior makes a statement. It features a custom timber frame with Hammer Beam trusses, all in Douglas Fir.
Inside there are five 10′ x 12′ stalls and a wash stall (with its own stall front), all designed by Quarry View Building Group. The stalls offer great visibility and ventilation. The doors glide beautifully and can be opened with just two fingers.
Each stall features a generous easy clean drain and a custom water faucet. The faucet is accessed through a cover, making it safe for animals and convenient for care.
A Renovation Done Right
Renovations are always a challenge. You don’t know what might find inside an existing structure or what complications you will run into. Quarry View Building Group’s experience as a builder made it easy to incorporate their client’s wishes into the new barn. The unique plumbing required for the new space was handled with ease, resulting in a beautiful barn with an inviting entertainment space.
The existing barn was outfitted with new roof trusses and a lean-to. The existing block walls were covered with James Hardie siding. New windows and custom doors were also added for practical and design purposes.
The entertainment space has plenty of seating that perfectly fits a large couch. Across the aisle is a custom bar top, kitchen, laundry and plenty of storage space. The owners did not have a need for a traditional tack room and have opted to use the cupboard storage for tack. The residents of the barn include dogs, ponies and donkeys.
The barn is heavily insulated and climate-controlled, making it an enjoyable space for the animals and owners year-round. Exhaust fans are placed in the ceiling to draw out hot air through the ridge vent and functioning cupola, keeping the barn cool on the warmest days.
The beloved family dogs are celebrated with individual photos and art throughout the barn.
Yellow Pine was used for the stalls and white pine was used for the entertaining spaces.
Custom wood doors.
The color of the siding is Timberbark.
