A modern 6-stall barn focuses on horses first.
Welcome to Bayou House Farms, a bright and modern barn owned by Jonathan Adams and Britney Hebert in Maurice, Louisiana. The center aisle horse barn has six stalls, a wash stall, an air-conditioned tack room and a dedicated feed room for their three horses and donkey.
To enhance natural light and airflow, the barn features a translucent polycarbonate roof peak and a cupola, ensuring fresh airflow throughout the barn. Ventilation and natural light are further enhanced by ample roof and eave vents, while Dutch doors in each stall allow horses to enjoy fresh air and natural light. Airflow is enhanced with a steep roof pitch contributing to the chimney and Bernoulli effect, enhancing natural ventilation and airflow throughout the barn. Even on a southern Louisiana humid summer day, the barn is cool and breezy.

The barn’s design was inspired by a commitment to equine safety, comfort, and practicality, coupled with a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing space for humans. Britney and Jonathan prioritized utilizing local resources and materials within budgetary constraints to create a space that enhances the well-being of their horses.
The stunning wagon wheel chandeliers are from Amazon while the classic gooseneck fixtures are from American Stalls.
The barn is outfitted with six 12′ x 14′ stalls by American Stalls with partitions that open up into spacious 12′ x 28′ areas, ideal for foaling.
All stalls have stall mattresses for optimal comfort and Nelson waterers featuring meters for precise hydration management. To maintain cleanliness efficiently, they utilize Bedding Blockers.
To keep things clean around the barn, separate tack and feed rooms help with organization and cleanliness. A designated place for each item fosters efficient upkeep. Horses inevitably create messes, making regular upkeep and maintenance essential and routine. The farm also has implemented a compost system that helps with manure management.

Britney’s equestrian journey began at age 3 when she received her first pony as a Christmas gift brought into the house near the tree, a moment forever etched into her memory.
“Growing up, I immersed myself in the world of horses, competing in both 4-H and AQHA all-around events, fostering a deep connection with these magnificent animals,” said Britney. “While pursuing my college and graduate education, I took a hiatus from riding, but the love for horses never left me. After college, I found myself drawn back to the saddle, this time exploring the world of hunter jumper riding. It was here that I discovered my true passion for show hunters, and the thrill of competition was reignited. Today, I compete in the adult amateur divisions, cherishing each moment spent in the ring with my equine partner, Alfie.”
Alfie “Amanda’s Leopard Folly” is a Warmblood crossed with a foundation Appaloosa (Silvio x Miss Ivory Doll), bred to be a fox hunter. He is Britney’s adult amateur hunter horse and also excels at non-competitive dressage.
A large southern-style porch offers a picturesque view of the couple’s soon-to-be-installed arena, complete with fans and rocking chairs for spectator comfort during events and training sessions.
Having a very supportive partner who encourages Britney to pursue her dreams makes life around the barn even better.
A pop of pink highlights the barn at night with pink led lights from Costco. They change the light colors out seasonally.
Thank you Jonathan and Britney for opening up your barn doors to Stable Style.
