Having your own horses at home is just a fantasy for some, but a dream come true for Manu Roetzer. She lives in the Bavarian Forest National Park with her husband and favorite equines. Bavaria is located in Southern Germany – where pretzels originated from.
Manu’s quaint property has a garden, the stable, sand paddocks for rainy days, and a large field for every day turnout and grazing. Costi and Caprice are Warmblood mares and Honey and Sissi are both adorable Shetland ponies.
Manu’s colorful Instagram account @darlingigotusapony shares glimpses of her beautiful property and animals.
Manu and her husband built their barn and home a year ago with the help of her dad and friends. The stable has three stalls plus storage for hay. The ponies are very attached to each other and happy to share a stall. Tack currently is stored in the house but a tack room is in the works to be built this fall.
The stalls all have individual runs for extra space.
Manu enjoys Dressage and going out on trail rides with Caprice (pictured here). Costi was previously a jumper but she is now retired.
Manu is happy to take care of her own horses each day and has created a special place. Hard work and discipline is a must for keeping the barn clean and organized. It doesn’t matter if there are guests over for Easter brunch or it’s Christmas day, the horses always come first.
Thoughtful details around the barn make this space warm and inviting. The lanterns and horse head add such a nice touch allowing the space to truly feel like home.
Thank you Manu for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Home is truly where the horses are. If you would like to share a barn or tack room tour on the blog, please get in touch!
