Stall Gates – otherwise known as stall screens and stall guards are one of the most versatile pieces of horse stall equipment in any barn. They are usually the final component in any stall, but should never be an afterthought. The gate securely keeps your horse in the barn. The gate securely keeps your horse in the barn while promoting ventilation and allowing light into the horse stall.

Every barn is different. The design, the layout and planning is usually determined by the climate and ultimately the user’s discipline or operations.

Functions of Stall Gates

1. Use as standalone stall doors or stall gates. If you are on a limited budget or simply want to update an older barn (i.e. training facility, large show barn, etc), new stall gates are a wonderful way to make a big impact. This impact includes a modern look, additional ventilation, and more access to sunlight.

2. Install as a complementary piece to an existing sliding on the interior. Many customers tend to have older barns with heavy sliding stall doors that are tough to slide open and also restrict airflow. This popular option gives barn owners a chance to add much needed ventilation to their barn without having to replace the entire sliding door or stall front. This simply addition can often save barn owners thousands of dollars in upgrades.

3. Exterior pairing with an existing dutch door or sliding paddock door. This gives a barn owner to update an old door door and allow more air flow into the barn. Pair the stall gate with an existing exterior stall door (i.e. Dutch Door or sliding paddock door). The stall gate allows a barn owner to open up a Dutch door or sliding paddock door while having the stall gate in place. This not only allows the horse to hang their head to get fresh air, but also allows for sunlight and ventilation to flow into barn while the horse is safely contained in the stall.

A Well-Made Stall Gate

American Stalls makes quality stall gates that won’t bend, break, or rust. They use only galvanized steel, thick powder coat finishes, and heavy-duty steel gauge to ensure that your stall gate is built to last. They also ensure that all bars are spaced at 2.5” centers to ensure that even the smallest of hooves don’t get caught. Lastly, their craftsmen take the time to ground down all welds and edges so you won’t find any sharp edges on these gates.
