A trio of recently constructed polo barns were designed with durability, workflow and aesthetics in mind.
Undeniable beauty surrounds the impressive polo barns at La Fe Polo Club, situated in General Rodriguez, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Natural wood design elements, handmade fixtures and details make these structures designed by CFO Arquitectura are anything but ordinary.
The firm was hired by professional polo player, Francisco Elizalde to bring his barns to life. Francisco travels the world and is only in Argentina for a couple months a year. It was imperative for CFO to execute the project flawlessly while he was away. The barns were ready for Francisco and his team, La Hache upon his return. CFO handled everything in this project from the initial planning, design concept, construction, finishes and interior decor. The barns were built in just eight short months. CFO Arquitectura began their work in January of 2023 and finished in a timely manner, at the end of August – the beginning of the polo season in Argentina.

Three identical barns, each equipped with 20 stalls, for a total of 60 stalls are on site. Each barn features a wide barn aisle for horses and humans to move safely throughout the busy barn. There are 10 box stalls on each side of the barn, with a tack and veterinary room and a lounge and bathroom centrally located in each barn.
CFO selected natural and timeless materials for the barns. The warm color pallet blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. In time, the barns will age and continue to look just as beautiful.
Handmade details found throughout the space adds to its uniqueness. The hardware and lighting were designed and handmade by artisans that work with CFO throughout Argentina.
The doors and wooden details surrounding the main entrance and shutters are made out of durable hardwood.
The Barn Interior
Inside, the barn prioritizes airflow and natural light. High ceilings, low profile stall fronts, exterior windows and intentional open space between the walls and roof all contribute to the ventilation.
Two of Francisco’s polo horses. The string of horses are very well cared for.
Inside, the wide aisle and concrete stall fronts are durable and made to last.
Tack Room
The tack room is centrally located in the barns for easy access to saddle the horses.
