In the quiet lowlands of Springside Warmbloods in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, nature surrounds a modern facility with a focus on producing magnificent Warmbloods. As a successful equine architect and owner of Springside Warmbloods, Daniel Ash is honed in on desirable dressage bloodlines.
It’s no surprise that Daniel designed the entire facility himself. More of Daniel’s work can be seen at danielash.com.au. He is a Melbourne based architect who specializes in country estates.
The boutique stud operation takes pride in curating breeding stock fixated on bloodlines, type, movement and temperament. As a result, a small amount of foals are produced each year, but they are able to grow up and compete at an international level.
Springside is home to legendary super-sire Stedinger (imp). Stedinger was named the best dressage sire in Australia for 2019, 12th in the WORLD on the WBFSH sire rankings.
This is an extraordinary achievement for a stallion located in Australia who breeds a much smaller book of mares each season than his European contemporaries.
The Springside breeding program includes 9 of the 12 top rated stallions, with sires such as Jazz, Sandro Hit, De Niro, Quaterback and Florencio well represented in their mares. Stedinger is the sire to many international level Grand Prix horses around the world.
